Authorities have confirmed that one person has been killed after a car and train collision on Nadeau Road near Wolverine drive on Wednesday afternoon.
Alexandra D McDuffie, of Monroe, Michigan was driving West on Nadeau Road, when her car was struck by a Norfolk Southern train that was traveling Southbound. McDuffie was ejected from the vehicle.
Ms. McDuffies daughter, age 8, was also in the vehicle during the crash. She was taken to St. Vincent’s Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, where she was listed in stable condition.
Authorities do not think that alcohol appears to be a factor and the train signals were properly working at the time of the accident.
