54-year-Old injured in accident

54-year-old Steven C. Murray was traveling south on the Interstate when Trooper K. Terry saw his vehicle run off the right shoulder of the road and hit the concrete barrier several time.
Murray continued south on the shoulder. Terry turned on his emergency lights and tried to pull him over. Murray ignored Terry and the pursuit began.
The chase lasted for about for two miles when in an attempt to escape police, Murray entered the southbound commercial vehicle weigh station, where the vehicle ran into a ditch and caught fire.
When police approached the Murray’s vehicle to get him out of the wreckage, he pulled out a handgun and it at the police. Murray followed the police’s demands for him to drop his weapon and he surrendered.
Murray sustained minor injuries and was taken to Sentara Potomac Hospital. He now faces charges including, attempted capitol murder of a police officer, driving under the influence of drugs (DUID), hit and run, reckless driving, attempting to elude a police officer, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
