With school back in session, drivers should be much more aware of their surroundings while on the road. An accident in central Fulton County made that clear yesterday.
Seven students who were traveling home from a disabilities class, along with their driver and aide, were injured Wednesday when their bus was struck by a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was also injured in the crash, which sent all ten victims to the hospital.
The bus, operated by Swanton Local Schools, was struck by the tractor-trailer after the rig failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of State Rt. 109 and U.S. 20A near Delta.
The head of maintenance for K &L Trucking, which operates the tractor-trailer, said the driver of the truck has a clean driving record and has been driving for the company for 10 years.
