Infant Killed After Mt. Vernon Car Accident | Toledo, Ohio Child Accident Attorney

The Charles E. Boyk Law Offices are saddened to report that an infant is dead after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning along Ohio 229 in Knox County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Carrie Ward was traveling east on Ohio 229 when she lost control of her minivan on the icy roads, striking an SUV driven by Jimmie Weaver.

Authorities say four month old Louis Ward, who was a passenger in the minivan was killed, while 4-year-old Liberty Ward was seriously injured and transported to Children's Hospital in Columbus.

Carrie Ward, the mother, was also seriously injured and was transported to Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus. The driver of the SUV sustained injuries and was transported to Knox Community Hospital.

Both children were restrained in child safety seats and both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Authorities say icy road conditions contributed to the crash, which remains under investigation.
