Emergency crews diverted traffic along Ohio 339 this morning to respond to a multi-car accident. Multiple units responded to the early morning multi-car accident on Rt. 339, just north of the Spence Road intersection. Traffic was diverted from the scene, onto Spence Road, for almost three hours as officials worked to free an entrapped driver, clean up the scene and map out the crash. Capt. Dave Ankrom, with the Little Hocking VFD said officials had to block traffic to free an entrapped driver in one of the vehicles. According to the report Ankrom said at least one person was seriously injured in the accident. The as-of-yet unidentified driver was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center. Officials attempted to have the driver air-evaced from the area twice, but heavy fog prevented a helicopter from a approaching the scene.
