Norwalk woman killed in crash on U.S. 20 | Toledo, Ohio Car Accident Lawyer

A Norwalk woman was killed and four people were injured Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 20.

Joan Barker was driving a red 2008 Toyota RAV4 on Toledo Road shortly before 8 p.m. when she pulled out from the stop sign at U.S. 20 in Huron County's Ridgefield Township, according to troopers from the Norwalk post.

She drove into the path of a tan 2003 Buick Regal that was westbound on U.S. 20. When the vehicles collided, the Buick veered into the median and came to rest after striking a signpost. The Toyota went off the right side of the road and came to rest in a field.

Barker was taken by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she died.

Riding in Barker's SUV were her sisters, Phyllis Steele-Burras, and Norma Hartman, who are also from Norwalk. Both were in intensive care at Metro Health Medical Center; no information was available on their condition.

The driver of the Buick, Raymond Heidinger, was taken by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was in good condition as of Sunday afternoon.

His passenger, Pricilla Jean Etter, was treated and released from Fisher- Titus Medical Center.

Westbound traffic on U.S. 20 was rerouted for about a half hour Saturday evening until the lanes were reopened.
