Ohio Route 53 is becoming more dangerous | Toledo, Ohio Car Accident Lawyer
Three weeks after a fatal accident on Route 53 another accident occurred. A Port Clinton man was flown to a Toledo hospital after a two-vehicle collision.
Jerry J. Sheppard, was driving a white 2001 Buick LeSabre south on Ohio 53 just north of Wonnell Road in Bay Township at 4:55 p.m.
Nicholas M. Molnar, was driving a black 2002 Ford F-250 north on Ohio 53 when Sheppard failed to yield the right-of-way and attempted to turn left into the BP gas station parking lot.
The two vehicles collided head-on, according to the report. Sheppard was seriously injured and was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, the patrol reports.
Molnar and his passenger, Zachary C. Kramer, were transported to Magruder Hospital.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office and Bay Township Fire and EMS also responded to the scene. The report shows Sheppard was wearing a seatbelt, but neither Molnar nor Kramer was. Alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash.
