Our Findlay, Ohio workers' compensation lawyers handle cases involving work injuries on a daily basis. Sometimes these Ohio work injury accidents are the result of a malfunctioning piece of equipment.
According to the February issue of Lawyers USA. Caterpillar Inc. was ordered by a Texas jury to pay $56.3 million to a worker who was paralyzed from the waist down after using a Caterpillar tractor.
The artilce states that in AUgust 2006, the worker was working on a subdivision using a wheel tractor, when the tractor bounced up and down, throwing the worker into the frame, which caused spinal damage, 11 broken ribs, and a punctured lung.
It was later discovered that there were internal memos sent within the Caterpillar company that addressed the fact that there were certain recalls that were not fixed on that same model of tractor.
