Two die in Carroll and Coshocton car crashes | Toledo, Ohio Car Accident Lawyer

We are saddened to report of a pair of traffic accidents - one Tuesday afternoon in Coshocton County and a second early Wednesday in Carroll County - resulted in the deaths of two motorists. Two passengers were hospitalized in the first accident.

Erich A. Kaser, was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Wednesday on state Route 39. Kaser was eastbound in a 1999 Honda Accord at 2:55 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve. It went off the right side of the road and struck an embankment, according to troopers at the New Philadelphia post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.  The car overturned, ejecting Kaser, who was not wearing a safety belt.

Kaser died as a result of his injuries. Results are pending from an autopsy in Stark County.

Alcohol and speed are suspected as factors in the crash, which occurred on a level stretch of highway. The road surface was damp during the night, but it was not raining or snowing at the time, officers said.

A passing motorist reported the crash, the first fatality of the year in Carroll County, soon after it happened. Officers said there is no initial indication that any other vehicles were involved. Investigation is continuing.

After a two-vehicle collision about 3 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 36 near the Coshocton and Tuscarawas County line, Robert Sherry Sr., was pronounced dead in Coshocton Memorial Hospital.

Coshocton County Sheriff Tim Zimmerly said driver Steven Adams, failed to yield to Sherry's vehicle, which was westbound on Route 36, as Adams attempted to turn onto Rt. 36 from Township Rd. 104, resulting in the collision.

Sherry's passengers, William Peddicord Jr., and Robert Sherry Jr., were injured and transported by EMS to Coshocton Memorial Hospital.
