On a Friday in September, a University of Toledo senior was on her way home for the weekend to visit with friends and family. She had just left work in downtown Toledo, and was traveling east bound on Navarre/Route 2, in Oregon. Traffic was of course pretty heavy due to rush hour, and most were traveling at the designated speed limit.
There was a truck, hauling a trailer that was starting to slow down from what it appeared to the UT student. So as the truck began slowing the UT student slowed down as well. She was beginning to switch lanes, becoming inpatient of slowing down.
She was double checking that it was safe for her to switch lanes and in the process of doing so rear ended the trailer. This caused front end damage to her vehicle as well as for her air bags to deploy. There was no visible damage to the trailer itself but it did damage the ball hitch of the trailer.
No one was injured in the auto accident, but the UT student was cited. It is best to be at least 3 or more seconds behind the car or truck in front of you. Try not to be in a rush while driving, this can cause road rage, and can end up making you even more late if you are in an accident.
