The Ohio Highway State Patrol is investigating a ATV injury crash that happened in Sandusky County's Woodville Township. Joseph Lee Paul, 16, of Helena was driving a 2010 Honda Rancher ATV on Township Road 121. According to his father, who was driving a separate ATV, Paul was west on Township Road 121 and swerved to avoid a deer. The ATV rolled several times and Paul was ejected. He was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo by Life Flight and is currently listed in critical condition. Paul was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Although an animal was a contributing factor in this crash, troopers remind citizens that ATVs are designed for off-road use and may be driven on the road only if they have all the proper safety equipment and are registered.
